Version: Antamedia HotSpot Software 1.4.6
"Excellent product, even better technical support"
Pros: Ease of use and interface. Technical support is just a short Skype chat or e-mail away, they have always replied promptly
Cons: Do not use the built in DHCP. It is very flaky. The setup manual is somewhat usable. Would love to see WPA-Enterprise embedded in the product. Could also use a caching server function. Would also like to be able to change the units of measure from kBs to Kbs (US vs. European standard) I would also love a percentage of available bandwidth scale and some printable monthly usage and by customer reports. Still a hell of an effort for the money.

Version: Antamedia HotSpot Software 1.4.6
"Call it "ISP in a Box" You get everything"
Pros: I'm skeptical of anything that boasts too much of it's ease. Running hotspot for income is nothing to play with. Anything this easy has to be a useless toy. Right? Antamedia is plenty good without a lot of head-scratching hassle. First is the DHCP server and bandwidth management feature. You usally need separate Internet gateway software to handle that and Antamedia makes it a no-brainer so you can think mostly about what you're going to charge people
You can design all kinds of billing plans from 15 minutes to 1 month and collect through any of 50 credit/debit card gateways including Paypal.
You never have to touch a customer's computer. On their first attempt to access your Internet service, the user gets a self-signup webpage before they can go forward.
Without much effort, cost or computer expertise you can turn the access you've been giving away free into money-making hotspot. Not bad a investment for $300.
Cons: Not crazy about Antamedia's purchase and registration process. You download the trial software and buy a registration key to convert your trial copy to fully-functional. If you spend $300 on the web you should get your registration key NOW. It took six days for my key to arrive by e-mail and it didn't work. I waited six day and STILL have to play e-mail tag to get the registration I paid for? It's ridiculous!
