It allows you to connect to any site without being tracked because it all groes through the AOL proxies. This is great for downloading things and not being tracked. :)
Cons
The browser can sometimes be slow, but nothing horrible.
Summary
I prefer to use AOL to download files from the internet, with AIM and mail built in, it does what its supposed to.

"AOl9.5 is a troublesome program"
Version: America Online (AOL) 9.5
Pros
the ease of going on line
ease of useCons
Cons :
1) getting kicked off line for no apparrent reason
2) Freezing
3) Dead lnks ( aol s sites)
4) Difficulty With signing on after being kicked off
5) The indiscrimate openig of other unwanted sites etc
3)Summary
Aol should have beta tested this version of their ISP software...before relasing it to the public....
Aol also should go back to releasing their software on cd roms, instead of making us go online for their latest software... -
"It's the same old AOL."
Version: America Online (AOL) 9.5
Pros
It still has the familiar interface that it has had for a long time. It is fairly simple to use and navigate.
Cons
Not much has changed in AOL's service for years from my viewpoint.
Summary
It is useful software for those who want simple and easy access to the internet rolled up into one package (client, browser, etc.). I find it useful to recommend to those who lack advanced knowledge of navigating the internet, using instant messaging, etc.

"It cost to much"

Cons
IT COST TO MUCH!!
-
"no reason in the world to use it"
Version: America Online (AOL) 9.5
Pros
nothing at all
Cons
clunky, old school, for newbies only and then even they should get out after 1 month
Summary
bottom line is they have gone from 33 million users on dial up to a couple of million now. They never adapted to high speed and you can't even get their coffee coasters (installation discs) anymore.
AOL and Blockbuster should merge as equals of a dying breed. -
