Today it is not even important to have much database experience and knowledge - is is also important to have professional tools which makes development and testing of application easy and therefor possible. In the last years, more and more java based applications reached the market. It seems, that the most softwarecompanies have forgotten, that it is not enough to offer a tool only in the web language of java. For developers it`s more sensefull to work with intuitiv operating tools, so that they can not even work on databasesystems more easily, also to control and to tune without to know every single bit of the database.
During the internetprojects, where AlligatorSQL was developed and tested, we neverfound only one database engine. Every projects have their own database structures but in every structure the Oracle8i was found a the main engine. In projects with e less amount of datarecords you often find the open source database MySQL. Also a combination of both structures is possible and brings the database developer and also to the frontend developer some problems.
The standard protocol LDAP(lightweight directory access protocol) completes often the structure of a web project. Therefore we made it to our task, to access as many databases as we can and put all our knowledge into one program - AlligatorSQL.
