We have mixed feelings about AlfaClock2, which makes up for its unremarkable looks with a surprisingly strong feature set. The straightforward interface lets you adjust the appearance and the date format of the system-tray clock, as well as display an analog desktop clock and customize its readout with elements such as CPU and RAM usage. You can set alarms with text messages or launch an executable file at a designated time. AlfaClock2 needs Winamp to play audio alarms, but it can speak the time and date on its own. It also supports hot keys and can sync with a number of online atomic servers. On the downside, we couldn't find any way to keep the calendar and clock beneath active windows, and we thought $29.95 was too much for a clock program without skins (You can tweak the color scheme, but that's not really the same thing). AlfaClock2 isn't dazzling, but it's a solid replacement for the Windows clock.

But, the main goal of this program is to extend your tray clock functionality. It can speak the time, start Windows applications at a specified time, indicate processor and memory loads.

Version 2.08 adds "Check for Updates" feature.

Version 2.34 includes unspecified updates.
