CNET Editors' review
This ultrasimple freeware program allows you to set up alarms for each day of the week, but its bland interface is a snoozer. With Alarm Clock, just set alarm times (one for each day of the week or just one single alarm for the entire week), choose an MP3 or a WAV file or use the default for each of your alarms, and hit Set Alarms. You can even set a snooze interval. When the alarm triggers, you'll hear your music file or the annoying old-school bell default option. The program, while functional and easy to understand, doesn t let you personalize a display message when an alarm triggers, so Alarm Clock's simple greeting of ""Hello!"" has to suffice. If you need a no-nonsense alarm clock for your PC, this program provides a nice wake-up call.Publisher's Description
From Free Alarm Clock:
It's an alarm clock for your PC, with a total of eight alarms--one for each day of the week, as well as an additional one-time alarm for use at any time. You can use the built-in sound (very obnoxious) or you can even have it play MP3s.

"Had problems with software, immediately deleted."
Version: Alarm Clock 1.0
Pros
Software downloaded.
Cons
I downloaded the program from CNET and setup the alarm clock. Within minutes - Like a phishing virus, boxes kept opening up until the computer froze. Had to reboot the computer and delete the program.
Summary
Had a serious issue with this program... Had to immediately remove the program.
-
"Its junk whoever reviewed this did a crappy job."
Version: Alarm Clock 1.0
Pros
no pros can't come up with any. If it would work that would be nice.
Cons
Volume does not work and you can't get a full uninstall I would suggest a rooster instead !
-
"I love this alarm!"
Version: Alarm Clock 1.0
Pros
Plays my mp3s. Worked great when I did a test-run!
Cons
Don't know of any...I just downloaded it.
Summary
I recommend this to anyone who needs an alarm on their computer. I can't always hear the alarm on my phone, so this is great :)
-
"Doesn't work, plain and simple."
Version: Alarm Clock 1.0
Pros
It at least makes a noise...
Cons
Doesn't play custom mp3s as advertized.
Doesn't save settings on exit.
Closes as soon as you hit apply...Summary
I wanted this clock to play a certain mp3 every morning at a set time, as a backup alarm. The UI was fairly clunky, and it didn't actually save the setting for the wakeup mp3, so when the alarm actually went off, it was some kind of annoying buzzing.

"Good application to have."
Version: Alarm Clock 1.0
Pros
Multiple days and ease of use, Like the fact that user can set the sound to their choice.
Cons
Very simple and plain interface, not real fancy.
Summary
For anyone who doesn't keep track of time very well this makes an awesome addition to the desktop.
-
"Very simple and less than intuitive in its use"
Version: Alarm Clock 1.0
Pros
It's Free! You can attach your own .mp3 or .wav file for alarm sound.
Cons
Doesn't automatically reset (or at least I can't figure out how to). I want it to go off every afternoon at 5:30, but have to re-activate it each day. Also, it should have a feature that allows you to select 'auto-start' so that when you boot your system so you don't have to remember to start the program.
Summary
I'm still looking for the 'perfect' alarm clock.

"Just what's needed!"
Version: Alarm Clock 1.0
Pros
Perfectly fills the gap left by an inconsiderate Microsoft when they failed to provide a simple alarm clock via the OS.
Even "Acorn" computers in the UK had this sussed back in the late 1980's!
Good to have [a] an on-screen alert at the chosen alarm time AND [b] the option to choose a favourite .mp3 file to alert you/wake you up!Cons
Can see no 'cons' at all for this neat, free download.
Summary
DOWNLOAD THIS! : it's a must for all XP/Vista/Windows7 users, especially if your session on the computer is limited because of a looming dealine elsewhere.
Set it for 15/20/30 minutes' time etc., knowing you won't get over-absorbed in whatever you're doing : Alarm will alert you when it's time for you to "Hibernate"! -
