-Decent malware signatures
-I like that it has an evaluation period even though its free because i like to be able to try what im using before i officially use it
- Not overly confusing or aggressive when in auto learn mode.
-Doesnt sandbox Harmless files like other free products with the sandbox feature
-Updating is DecentCons
- Updating is not always on time

Overall this is a good product. Like CNET said in their review. It has set a new level of basic protection for free products.
I forgot to add that it doesnt have a sandbox feature...

It uses little system resources. It has a high detection rate. Compared to many other AVs, you can quit it while in Windows. That is very usefull to run blocked Software, eg. a keygen. The interface is easy to use. The firewall works excellent. You can set the security level of the firewall. Anything between no of and so high, that it will even ask you weather wou want to run certain Windows processes...
Cons
None, except maybe, that the free version doesn't have the so called "priority updates". That just means that you can't update on demand. Instead it will automatically update once a day. And in my opinion updating once a still makes the engine up-to-date.
Summary
A very good free AV. The firewall is very good. Simple interface. The only difference to the paid version are the "pririty updates". But I think the automatic update once a day is more than enough. Compared to comodo, it is much easier on resources. I've used it for long now and I didn't get any malware so far. I did get a trojan once when using Microsoft Security Essentials. The ability to completely exit the software and turn of all its services is also very usefull, as you will be able to use software, that got blocked, something not possible with many other suites, as they can't be turned of. If you can live with it being updated "only" once a day, this is certainly a very good choice.

I can't delete the remains after the unistallation of the app from

1.Free 2.Very light on the system
3. Found a trojan created by Canon LBP 1120 printer, removed it and the printer works nice.
4. Uninstalls perfectly, unlike AVGCons
Updates are not always available.

cannot see the benefit of using free unless you wanna try before purchasing the paid version. WHY? because the VIRUS ENGINE is a year old and you only get up to date definitions unless you pay for it.Summary
You would be better off with a free suite like Comodo or a combination of free AV and firewall and url checker like Bitdefender's trafficlight(free).

"Unstable, slow, troublesome suite"

Cons
1. The AV has very low detection rates, and very very poor at cleaning up virus infections. Even MS Security Essentials (VB100) has better detection rates, cleans better, and is free.
2. The smartdecision in this suite slows down browsing and causes the computer to freeze for 2-3 minutes or longer each time you try to run an application. They should call it stupiddecision instead.
3. The updates are very irregular, most times the updater runs but no updates are available. Somehow the updater seems to be sending data out from the PC. The log does not show, but other process monitoring software shows. Strange. Is this company sending any of my private data to themselves?
4. This suite causes intermittent bluescreen crashes, especially on warm reboots.
5. Firebox and IE browsers seem to be non responsive for long periods of time after installing this suite. Browsing and downloading becomes very slow.Summary
Don't bother to give yourself more trouble. Security suites are meant to be like bodyguards that protect us. But Outpost turn out to be a bodyguard that annoys you and makes your life miserable on the PC. There are better products out there: AVAST + COMODO gives much better protection with less trouble.

Summary
I have been using the paid version on my laptop for 10 years and have never had a problem. I was happy when the free version came out, I use the free version on all my computers(5 total) and have not had any problems. unlike the other free antivirus software out there, this one will help you remove a virus if you get 1 and the others wont. I have tried all the other free antivirus software and most of the paid antivirus software out there and this is the best.
