Using FTP can be complicated and confusing. FTP Voyager cleans up the mess with its blend of performance and ease of use, dressed in a familiar Windows Explorer-style interface and loaded with features. On the feature front, FTP Voyager supports Secure Shell (SSH) access, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connections, and folder synchronization. A handy scheduler lets you automate transfers.
The interface is fully customizable, with a grab bag of options. The most notable tweak is Simple Mode, which limits the number of visible features and swaps out the small, cramped toolbars with one larger, more universal one. The view menu lets you toggle between Simple Mode and FTP Voyager's normal interface. Overall, FTP Voyager is a well-balanced FTP client that offers excellent features for professional users while maintaining ease of use for novices.
Advanced FTP Voyager is an FTP client program that allows you to perform FTP operations in the same way that you would normally perform file operations. Advanced FTP Voyager can connect to almost any FTP site, whether it's a Unix site or a Windows NT site. Advanced FTP Voyager looks and feels like Windows Explorer. In fact, you can even drag and drop files from the FTP site to your hard drive, and vice versa. Also included are the following features: local drive and folder panes, a log pane, the ability to resume broken file transfers, and 270 preconfigured public FTP sites. This update adds S/Key password encryption for S/Key FTP servers, a Connection Saver feature for those sites that allow only one login, an easier tabbed dialog for "advanced" site settings, and support for two more servers. It also corrects a PASV problem.
