Version: Adobe Audition 1.5
Cons: I downloaded this 50meg installer only to be told that it is not compatible with Windows ME. Ridiculous waste of time.

"A Professional Recording Software"
Pros: Adobe Audition is an amazing software in every way. It comes with a library of vst effects to help you get started. These include, reverb, flanger, EQ, compression, limiting, and so much more. The software supports DX and VST plugins for expansion. The interface is amazing. I've recorded some very big albums with this software. You can add video to your music within the software, which is a cool little feature. It is a serious software for audio professionals. The best recording software out.
Cons: The software crashes from time to time. However, it has a great recovery feature which lets you get back to where you left off before the crash. That's it for cons.

"it's the easiest to learn of all the recording programs out there."
Pros: Adobe audition (cool pro) stands above the rest. It is easy to learn in comparison to other programs, and it provides you with professional sounding results. There are no plugins nagging you because everything you need is included in the intuitive layout. Plus, all the various effects and goodies you've saved from other programs are compatible with this software. Stick with it, it's worth it.
Cons: If you don't use 2 hard drives, one for your software and one for storing your music, you may wind up with clicks, pops, and delays. The 2nd hard drive will behave beautifully if you hook it up via firewire or scuzzy.
