From Adobe Systems :Adobe After Effects composites and creates 2D and 3D animation and special effects for film, video, multimedia, and Web projects. Compositing features include unlimited layers, Bezi r masks, alpha-channel controls, antialiasing, interlayer transfers, and the ability to mix multiple file resolutions. Unlimited keyframes can be added to animate all layer attributes, including position, rotation, scale, anchor point, and opacity. Layers can be positioned and animated within one one-thousandth of a pixel. In addition to more than 60 special effects, time remapping can be used to create such effects as variable slow motion, frame stuttering, playback delay, backward playback, and hold frames. Adobe After Effects can be seamlessly integrated with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Premiere.
Version 7 adds Graph editor, real-time, high-fidelity OpenGL support, and Timewarp feature.

Version: Adobe After Effects 7
Pros: After Effects made the most significant changes from version 6.0. Version 7 introduces us to pre-made background animations for producers in a pinch. The redesigned interface on this and Premiere Pro allows for a less cluttered workspace, and the new graph editor feature provides more control over keyframes for those who are detail-oriented.
Cons: You have to get the Production Studio bundle in order to take advantage of the Dynamic Link feature, otherwise you're still stuck with waiting to render a composition before importing it into a video editing program.

Version: Adobe After Effects 7
Pros: I liked this program a lot. I used it to make star wars lightsabers and many other things.
Cons: I didn't like the 30-day trial crap.
Some of us don't have $700 dollars to spend on this program.

Pros: it lets me edit my movies with ease, adding special effects and MUCH more.
Cons: hardly any, if there were...i was too happy to notice!

Pros: Great software - only tried it at school and downloading now onto my own comp.
Cons: This is the forth time attempting to download this because for the past three times, it's been immensly slow and taking at least two hours and I can't wait around that long. Funny, because I'm also on broadband. It says it is 175.01MB but on my download window, it says it's 1216.0MB...it's currently on 70% and will take an estimated 56 mins to finish. Great.
Plus, I need to download Illustrator once I've finished in order to do my Graphics project.
