Pros
The Free Version is OK but does not realy do anything more than a good Antivirus/Anti spyware/adware suite from serveral companys I have tried and use.
Cons
I am not sure the motivation for the behavior of this companys products in that
they have eather a bad algorythem or they are ripoffs in my opinion. I base this on more than one case. IT starts states that hardware has changed when it has not.Summary
The lavesoft programs have in more than one occasion stated that the hardware on my systems has changed and then it disables that product that you/I have paid for and accuses you of breaking the law. IT states that you have changed tha hardware when you have not changed the hardware. I am talking I did not even change a sound card or even a USB device. However the products Say that I did. You then have to write to there support department who are slow and also rude as hell. They have the authority to reset your keys or serial number so it will work again. However they do not ask for proff of a change or no change in Hardware. They just turn it off and the software makes the accusations. Basicly when you need it the most it is not only not working anymore but states you have changed computers and are using the software on more than one system even though you have not changed a thing. So i had to purchase a new licence to finnish the project and sent them an email. I asked for an appology and also offered a way for them to make the software so it will know that the hardware has changed or not changed. The were not intersted in fixing this part of the software. Thus I conclude that they want the software to falsly stop working and stateing that it is due to hardware changes that have not happend so as to sell more software. I think it is intentional. That is my opinion based on what has happend now on more than one ocaasion. I THINK this is the most likley case. Howerver it could be that some or all of them are morons in my opinion. Or Both. I know that they are very rude when
attempting to get help for keys I have paid for. No refund. No Appology. (I did ask for one on more than one occasion.
I am going to start to look for a replacment ASAP.
Beware of this product other than the free products. Those I will continue to use. But will not purchase from them again until I get an apppology and or a refund or a free product. They refuse to do anything other than state they do not know what I am talking about and that they have no record of the licence that I purchased and sent to them to prove it. I think you should be warned about these jerks. I have the profff. The E-mails the recipts etc.. Be Ware. Stay Away from this software.
I can understand why Cnet gives them a good rating. In a short test it would be good software. But as an everyday Ex user You will find the dark side as I call it.

"Ad-Aware Plus removes fake antivirus scareware."
Version: Ad-Aware Plus Internet Security 8.2
Pros
I removed fake antivirus scareware malware that McAfee, PC Tools Spyware Doctor with Antivirus Starter Edition, and PC Tools Threatfire all missed. It cleaned the boot sector upon a system restart that I was prompted to do.
Cons
I don't like the fact that it doesn't come with a firewall.

It is vigilant all the time, preventing spyware getting on to your computer.
Cons
A scan takes ages to do.
Summary
Well worth it - they could speed up the scan, though!
