- I bought this program about 6 months ago after my computer was bogged down with spyware and viruses. I did a complete reinstall, updated all the service packs and programs i used, then installed this. I've been completely virus free for 7 months - I love this program, i have an antivirus (nod32 and spybot S&D) but with this i really don't even need them, i just have them as a backup (and because i'm used to having it) and so far it's come back clean everytime. I haven't tried their competitors (i know windows has steadystate), but that's because i haven't had to... this program has worked exactly the way it says. And the cool thing is, i haven't changed my behavior at all, I can go to any webpage, download whatever i want, install whatever i want, and when i reboot, it's back to clean. The only time i'm careful is when i have it thawed, and i only thaw to update programs, or install ones i have already tested out. My only real gripes are the fact that you have to reboot to thaw out (which i understand why they make you do this), and some programs (like Itunes, can be a little weird although it's not that hard to figure out ways around it. I would suggest starting fresh with a clean windows install and to partition your drive (i did 10 gigs for the Windows partition and the rest for the Save files drive) i freeze the windows partition and save everything to the save drive. What i really like about it is that you go to any webpage, install, download, delete, change whatever you want on the frozen partition and as long as it's frozen, when you reboot it's back the same way you had it before, i often test things out and if they work then i thaw the partition and install... if it doesn't work, i just reboot and it's back to the way it was before. I am a real user (you can check me out on twitter - Anomoly) I say all that to say this: My computer is just as fast as the first day i installed windows fresh, bottom line highly recommend, sorry such a long post.

- It does what it says it does. Gives you bulletproof, worry proof computing. Easy install, easy disable, easy enable.

- My only complaint is that you need to reboot the system if you disable the software... this isn't always a bad thing though.

- It took a me only a little while to figure out how to use the software. I installed a fresh copy of windows and all the programs i used (and the updates), partitioned the hard drive into two drives (the main smaller partition is the one that windows went on, and the larger partition is where i save the big files or install larger programs). From there i told deepfreeze to freeze only the smaller windows partition. This way when i'm doing things and need to save i can save the file on the larger unfroze partition and not loose anything. Thus far it has worked flawlessly, i can visit any site, download any program, install it onto my smaller froze partition, see how it works, or if there is viruses, download pictures and other things to upload to websites (and leave them right on the desktop. after i reboot, it's like all of it never existed!! my desktop has never been so clean, and my computer has never stayed sooo fast!!! I am a real world individual and I am very happy with it. Just to prove it google anomoly's thoughts blog. the only negative i mentioned was that you must reboot the system in order to disable or enable the software - it can be a pain at first but once you get used to it you start to realize what changes you need to do and which ones you really dont and make all of them at the same time. Besides if you could click a button to turn it off and not reboot to the fresh version you could have something lurking. I have Nod32 antivirus (wonderful and lightweight). and some spyware/adware that i keep up to date only so if i get something (while my system is froze) i know to avoid it. however for over 5 months all three of my programs have come up completely clean (this is on a windows XP machine sp3)! I can't say enough about this program. I highly recommend!!

- It?s has many positive features,?.BUT you should only ?freeze? the hard drive if it?s clean of viruses, worms or any other malware. A friend of mine caught the Mytob worm in his computer?s memory while Deep Freeze was disabled. Once He enabled it- in that condition, He could not disable the Deep Freeze anymore. He used the PC like that for some time, but eventually had to format the hard drive and reinstall the whole Windows. Laugh or cry, this product should be carefully dealt with.
