Apply and create mouse and keyboard shortcuts like a pro with Active Keyboard. You'll find Multimedia, Internet, System, and Window Control shortcut categories with 13 preset options, controlling the CD-ROM door and volume and minimizing windows among them. Windows XP-style icons make it easy to add categories and create your own simple macros and file and Internet shortcuts. Assigning shortcut keys is made easier with icons for all standard keys. Just click on one to add it to a shortcut. The Help file is a bit sparse, but Active Keyboard's user-friendly approach makes this an especially nice choice for the novice. Overall, though, anyone in search of a quick way to automate tasks and create time-saving shortcuts will appreciate this program's simplicity.Publisher's description

Version: Active Keyboard 3.1
Pros: Apart from what the CNET's Editor mentioned, this program can also type text for you as if you copy-and-pasted it. If you're a website designer, you can save long HTML codes that you type over and over again by just adding it to a shortcut-key. How about business individuals who type same line on the start or end of their letters?
This software is a must for those who input repeated text in a document, web-forms, web address bar, etc. It even lets you shut down or restart your computer with just two key presses, better than going to Start > Turn off computer... > Shut Down/Restart (which takes time). You can also open applications or run games with couple of key presses too. Not forgetting to mention that you can create your own categories to organise and store shortcut information for easy navigation.
The 30-day trial is enough time to try it and make up your mind. It is well worth the money for a program that saves your time.
Cons: No flaws!
