"I think first impressions are important"
Pros: The cons kept me from getting to this part!
Cons: When you download a "freeware" program and the first thing that is required is an email address, followed by prompting my firewall to allow access to download various web content and check this and that online before I have set any preferences, my head tilts to one side and one of my eyebrows raises, and I go "huH?. In this day of every fricken program claiming to be freeware, respecting my privacy, and containing no ad/spyware, yet constantly finding loopholes to abuse all three, you would think that a program offering a generic process (FTP) and presumably fighting to achieve a higher spot on the # of downloads would try to get off on the right foot after the initial download. It sounds like this is a fine program from the other reviews, but quite frankly I think most people find it insulting to be manhandled right out of the gate. If you claim it is freeware, dont cheapen the word freeware. Let people use it with no manditory strings attached, let people set their own settings for how you contact what online by at least giving them an option. example. pop up window that says "welcome to ace ftp, in order to make sure you have a working internet connection, we need to test this bla bla bla, would you like us to do that now?" Aw, genious!!! Sorry to ramble but some times.....Its painfull, figure it out look at all the top downloads (they dont do this cr@p. bye

"Great, once you figure it out."
Pros: This program fills my needs sufficiently. I like the display, how you can easily see the files on your local computer right next to the files on the server. And it's super easy to upload, overwrite and delete.
Cons: This was my first attempt at using a stand alone FTP program, so that might explain my trouble. But it took me forever to figure out how to actually connect with my server.
