Publisher's description
From Investintech :Able2Doc (A2D) enables users to view PDFs and convert PDF data into editable MS Word documents. Users can select data from a PDF document and choose to convert the selection into Word using one of three options. The standard option Word output retains the background graphics and the look and feel of the PDF document and does not use frames (text boxes) for the Word text. The frames option is similar to the standard option but places the text into frames within Word. The text conversion converts only the text, and the output is in a standard formatted Word document.
In version 2.0 product look and feel is updated and a new word output conversion option is added.
Version 3 improved PDF to Word conversion and updated user interface.

Version: Able2Doc 3
"4-1/2 Stars - very good little program"
Pros: I'm reviewing based on the 7-day free trial of version 3.0, which as of this writing has not yet been reviewed by others. I'm impressed. This software completed clean conversions to Microsoft Word of PDF text with complex formatting. Beats the heck out of one of its similarly-priced competitors that I also tried. I can't comment on non-text conversion, which others here reported problems with in past versions of the software, but the documents I was converting included tables, charts, and other complex text, and the DOC versions looked almost identical to the PDF originals.
Cons: The user interface (kind of like the software's name) is a bit amateurish. You have to select each line of text you want to convert. For an entire document, just select everything. No big deal. Of slightly greater significance, the DOC results are not formatted in a way that makes editing as easy as it would be if an MS Word expert had created the DOCs from scratch. Example: "empty paragraphs" (AKA "hard returns") are sometimes used for blank spaces between paragraphs, rather than neater "space before" or "space after" paragraph formatting. But Able2 does as well or better than more expensive stuff that I've seen in corporate environments. The free trial version limits conversions to 3 pages per click, and 7 days, but within those constraints is fully functional. Even if you decide not to buy the software after the trial, you'll have good, useful DOC versions of the PDFs you converted. I may be missing something, but I haven't yet found freeware that does a good job converting PDF to DOC - DOC to PDF, yes, but not PDF to DOC. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me before I drop the 40 bucks on Able2.
