3GP Player is a basic program that lets users play 3GP videos and other video formats on their computers. Although the program works, we didn't find much about it that was very impressive.
The program's interface is sparse and takes up a lot of space relative to the features it offers. A large rectangular screen contains three widely-space icons; one to load videos, one for Help, and one with 3GP links. A significant chunk of the bottom of the interface is devoted to advertising. The program is fairly simple to use, and we found it easy to open and play videos in a variety of formats. The fact that the program opens a separate window to display the videos, however, was annoying, as was the fact that dragging the window to another location on the screen caused the video to hang up. Furthermore, we were irritated by the program's sound effects, which cannot be disabled; mousing over each icon plays a sound, and we found that these sounds played even when the 3GP Player wasn't the active window. The program's Help screen is three sentences long, and thus not very helpful. Overall, we found this program to be unsophisticated and annoying, and we can't think of anything about it that's particularly impressive.
3GP Player is free. It installs and uninstalls without issues. We do not recommend this program; although there's nothing functionally wrong with it, there are many better alternatives.

"STAY AWAY FILLED WITH BROWSER HIJACKERS!!!"

It played a 3GP video file just fine.
Cons
- Installation process is terrible, you have to un-click tons of things, and unclicking them seems to have no effect anyhow.
- Software barely works. I wanted to fast forward a bit in the video and that didn't work. Maybe software or video files fault.
- FILLED ALL THE BROWSERS ON MY SYSTEM UP WITH HIJACKERS AND CHANGED ALL MY HOME PAGES AND SEARCH ENGINES. IT TOOK ME 2HRS TO CLEAN OUT ALL THE STUFF, SOMEONE LESS COMPUTER LITERATE THEN THE DAMAGE WOULD HAVE BEEN PERMANENT.Summary
STAY AWAY. This software is not worth the trouble, not by any means. If you made the mistake I did, to clean up your system do this:
1.) one at a time for each browser installed on your system change your search engine back
2.) for each browser change your home page back
3.) for each browser disable and uninstall all the add-ons this installed.
4.) Go to add-remove programs in control panel, sort by date program installed to identify things installed today, there will be like 5 programs to remove. Remove them each one at a time.
5.) update your virus software and run a full system scan
6.) optional to run hijack this software and anti-malware-bytes software to clean anything else up.
7.) Write a review to warn others about this. -

I received no video with the file, only audio then it started skipping like an old recorded. My system locked up and will not reboot.
Summary
I was very disappointed. I'm a basic user so I trust that CNET would steer me in the right direction. (It has in the past). My system is now locked up, it will not reboot, I can't access the recovery drive, mouse/keyboard don't respond. Now I have to take my PC to get it repaired because 3G Player just took me out of the game. CNET please remove this software from you site. After reading some of the other comments, it seems that this software is full of viruses.
People like me trust in you...you let me down with this one. -
