This screensaver transforms your monitor into a cozy fireplace, complete with burning logs, smoke, sparkles, and flickering flames. 3D Realistic Fireplace Screen Saver's crackling and popping sound effects add to the cheery effect, though they don't change appreciably as you make the fire more or less intense. The demo version disables a few of the more advanced features, but you'll still find several customization options, including the ability to view a yellow fire, disable the sound effects, and set the width and decay of the flames. Since the program relies on Open GL graphics, you'll want to make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your video card. A nice pick year-round, 3D Realistic Fireplace Screen Saver will be especially useful for those who want to set the holiday mood.
