This convenient monitoring application is loaded with features, leaving its measly one-day trial as the major disappointment. Using 1-ACT Computer Spy 2006's intuitive, modern interface, recording computer activities is a breeze. Once monitoring is enabled, you can grab every keystroke, Web site, file, and e-mail printed or accessed. The program can then store the data in a log file and can be easily viewed according to category. Impressively, it also allows you to define what file extensions to monitor. In comparison to its competitors, this program also includes log-file encryption and can send log files through e-mail. Additionally, it offers basic features that are normally expected in this kind of application, such as password protection, stealth mode, autorun, and hot keys. The only downside is the insufficient one-day trial, which may prevent you from testing its full potential. Users searching for an easy-to-use, effective, computer-monitoring tool must give this program a shot.
