When a Word document shows an error while trying to open it chances are it is corrupt. WordFIX extracts the information from the file and creates a new file that is trouble free.

Good data recovery for Word documents (all versions).

Pros
Exact file is recovered, with all the original formatting, includes a basic recovery option for extremely corrupt files that restores text only.
Cons
I could not create a file that was not recoverable with this tool. I am sure there is a limitation to its functionality but I could not recreate it.
Summary
Great tool to restore and open Word files that will refuse to be accessed. It creates a new document with all the original data.
