Used Winexit for Windows?
Editors’ Review
This tiny DOS executable lets you quickly log off, shut down, power off, or reboot your system. As with any DOS commands, Winexit doesn't have an interface. You invoke it in a command window using one of the program's options.
Executing Winexit is very easy. Simply type the program name in a command window and add the shutdown option you want to apply. All options shut down running processes. Logoff merely logs the user off the system, but leaves the power on. Shutdown also quickly closes Windows. All you have left to do is shut down the power. With the Poweroff option, Winexit can even accomplish that task. The only problem with the Force option is that you may lose data.
There aren't a lot of size or memory requirements to this freeware, and it's quick and useful. It can be easily invoked from a batch file for automatic system shutdowns. It is just as helpful added to a shortcut to power down a system after running a particular application. Intermediate user to system administrators will find this a handy executable to have available.
