Though it lacks a wealth of features, this desktop manager tool offers a bare-bones approach to navigating virtual desktops. With no interface, Windows Desktop Manager Basic resides on the system tray. Four virtual desktops are offered, and you can move between them through the tray icon or hot keys. You'll need to mouse over the tray icon to know which virtual desktop you're currently logged on, but you'll be able to set wallpapers and run several applications on each virtual desktop. Unlike similar competitive apps in the market, you won't be able to create and add more desktops or personalize hot keys, although the help file boasts of these options. Windows Desktop Manager Basic is free, easy to use, and works decently as long as you don't expect in-depth features.
