Tiny but effective, this program can run programs just like the ordinary Windows Run applet. Command Line is a self-executable program that sits in your system tray, so it is always on hand. Before it can run an application, you must let it search for all executables on your computer. Don't worry if you don't know the exact name of an executable; you can view all the searched EXE files in one list. The list includes setup and uninstaller programs, which may not be needed, but you can edit the list to remove nuisance entries. During tests, however, when we tried to run a program (i.e. Word), we noticed the confirmation box had buttons labeled using a foreign language. We saw no difference on usage between command line and the Windows Run applet, but this application is easier to access and much more flexible. Despite the similarities, any user will find this freeware useful and powerful.

Developer's Description

Open programs without using the Start menu.
Command Line is a tool to run programs from a small shell next to your tray. So you don't have to use the startmenu to run it and keep a clean desktop. For example to start the Microsoft calculator you have to enter calc. This is much quicker than start-programs-accessories-calc. Command Line can also open directories.
