Excellent Program
Mickledo- Pros
- Too many to list. Very very easy to set up and operate although the interface looks clumsy and dated.
- Cons
- Lacks PTZ controls; but I can move the camera with my phone if I want to. So I can live with that. No sensitivity setting for motion detection, although I suspect this comes with the paid version. The PDF help file is comprehensive but does not relate to this version although its fairly easy to get around.
- Summary
- I bought a Wansview IP camera. Using the software that came with it requires a IT masters degree to set up. The instructions are hopeless and support is useless. I downloaded Visec for free. I was staggered at how straightforward it is to set up and use compared to the alternatives. I've set it up to send email warnings and to view online from anywhere with just a few simple ticks and entries. No DNS accounts, IP addresses, subnets, port forwarding and all the other unfathomable requirements.
Fast Setup,Easy to Use, and even works from my Blackberry
mynameiscoolman- Pros
- I use VISEC for my business and love it!
The file size is under 2 megabytes, such a small app for what it does and very clean coding.
I am running 2 web cameras (1 logitech, and 1 Creative USB) as well as an IP Axis 207 ip camera and a generic no name ip camera. VISEC found all the cameras within a few seconds. The no name IP camera I enter a jpeg link and it works fine. (I could barely get that no name to work itself, so impressed a lot that VISEC handled it great)
One thing I like is I did not need to read any instructions.
All you do is push 1 button to open the camera and then you can instantly playback by a double click.
VISEC is a very nice software design in that its predictable to the user on what to do.
Another cool thing I have never seen is VISEC recognized my second monitor and with a simple drag of the mouse I was now running a cool command center with cameras distributed on both monitors.
Even my new Blackberry works great with VISEC. I amaze all my clients when I show then I can watch the office on a Blackberry at the golf course.
I highly recommend this software for your small business.

Great software, great price, and very efficient on CPU.
softwaretesterforhomeuse- Pros
- After trying so many software programs, this is the easiest to use, and appears best priced.
Note: I was able to setup my Axis 211, my IQEYE and my 5 megapixel Arecont camera in a few minutes. My other software program cost 10x as much as took me about 2 days to do what I did in a few minutes. Visec also recognized my old web cam which I never expected to works.
Great software, great price, and very efficient on CPU.

Excellent software poor support
owebenaked- Pros
- I downloaded the trial version from this site, and loved the software. It runs flawlessly, set up easy, and the interface with their website is outstanding.
- Cons
- I have sent two support tickets (hoping for answers before buying the full version). Neither have been responded to. I went to buy registration, and learned that the $99 shown here is not available anywhere I can find. Instead you have to buy the 4 camera license version for $149. Excellent software, but take a little better care of you customers.
- Summary
Easy to use but...
kvchin- Pros
- User friendly interface, stable, easy customised and setup
- Cons
- Not support Pico capture card that many people use. Other similar software can easily done this. Hope to have a upgrade version that can fix the bug.
- Summary
An innovative peice of software.
whunter531- Pros
- Visec is a rarity in the software world in that it actually does what it says. It is easy to install, a breeze to configure and is stable. I evaluated it on an eight year old web cam, and after 4 hours I was sold.
- Cons

Good/stable software
mmajewski- Pros
- stable, it will autorun and begin recording if the PC is reset. Reliable. I use USB video capture and a cheap analog camera.
Had some issues exporting out of Visec into AVI or MPEG, found their tech support to be outstanding.
- Cons
- Takes some time to export files to another format.
- Summary
Great software and top notch tech service.
nodeknock- Pros
- The security software is user friendly, inexpensive and top notch. It means a lot that Phliex and their team of experts stand behind their products and are there to assist non technical people like myself. They have helped me to set up the perfect security system for my home. I have a wireless network in my home...Alexander in tech support took care of setting up my router to help me monitor my home via the internet...in real time, no less! I currently have 3 cameras set up. Everything works flawlessly. Thanks Philex!

- Summary
Might have been $79 once, but is now $99. No complaints otherwise.
gthompson- Pros
- Captures at several size options. 640x480 monochrome image captures (jpg) are generally under 20K. Web publishing feature seems to work well. Can specify a maximum amount of disk space for the images so it doesn't fill up your disk. Motion activation is a nice feature and the adjustable motion trigger level is very useful.
- Cons
- I thought $79 was a bit high for what I want to use it for, but then discovered that it is no longer $79, it is $99. I like the software but will go back and evaluate other less expensive products.
- Summary
Tried Numerous Other Titles First
cleversley- Pros
- We downloaded numerous security software titles, including Active WebCam, TinCam, WebCam XP, SimpleCam, LuxRiot, and several others, but Visec stands head & shoulders above ALL of them. Setup was a snap, yet the program was more sophisticated than any other titles we tried, and the built-in webserver is bulletproof. Also, almost most importantly: There were real people available by phone for tech support; no other title we tried offered that. Honestly, truly, look no further than Visec.
