• Ruined my Computer!!!

  Nothing, it ate my computer.

  Cons

  Everything. Disabled my entire computer. Could not answer emails, surf the internet, turn it off, turn it on...or do anything.

  Summary

  I read another review that said that they couldn't get this program off their computer either and I have found many more people who have had huge problems posting complaints online. The good news is this file is embedded so deep in your computer and doesn't come with an uninstall option so it requires a third party uninstall tool to get it off, which coincidentally Tenebril sells one. What a racket! I had to take my computer to a professional to be repaired-- in fact it is still being fixed right now. It was really hard to find their phone number so I will post it here: 1.800.722.7770 this will take you to Process Software, which owns Tenebril. Another number is 508.879.6994, this is the CEOs office. Though the staff did try and help me after I called several times the solution did not work and my computer was still non-functioning. If I turned it off I could not get it to turn back on until I had manually stopped several of their processes. It even prevented me from being able to run my computer in Safe Mode. Both of these companies are owned by Halo Technology Holding, Inc. which apparently made over 25 million dollars last year by running this scheme. Even though I just used the free trial option I will tell you it was not free at all and has caused so many problems and headaches that I feel like I am still paying for it. I cannot believe anyone gave this a good review. I would have never installed this program had I read all the horrible problems I found on search engines.   it might find software that's needed but you can easily find more out about what it supports then you can put in on a list of allowed spyware, then it won't appear on the list of spyware to be DISABLED!!!

  not much I don't like except these people that don't seem to know how to check if it supports important Software, for christs sake, read about it then put it on allowed, it that hard?!

  Pros

  I also have spybot, adaware, microsoft, spy doctor, & Aluria spyware security. The 1st 4 are top notch, but didn't detect spyware Aluria had in its software. Spy catcher did. With an intense search of a particular file Spy catcher caught, I found nearly all web pages called it spyware from Aluria, which is now deleted off my comp. It also has caught other spyware that the others didn,t, including Whenu & a trojan horse. It also catches any changes made to your registry. Sometimes, it goes into safe mode to fully remove some spyware . Has tons of options, including a notification if you should happen to visit a possible phishing sight. The first 4 are top choices, but I think this one is a top choice as well.

  I have a pentium 4, 1.8, XP converted from ME & have had no problems using Spy catcher in the past 8 months. It is very aggressive & spyware that is found should be checked out first before deleting it. I have found that some programs use a low threat adware to make them run.

  Pros

  Found 7 more spyware items than either Spybot S&D or Adware. One item was a trojan, another a downloader, 2 were a KEYLOGGER, and one was a spam generator. Other were Tracking cookies. Very impressed.

  Cons

  However, It found things that were "suspicious" and if I had let the program remove them I would have had problems. So at least for the items marked as "suspicious" use caution or just don't delete them unless you know what you are doing. Program allow you to put items into allowed list so they don't show up as spyware in the next scan, i.e. my bios flash program from ASUS. Jeff in Santa Barbara

• Quirky, But Great!

  It Finds stuff the other Biggies don`t and it doesn`t crash your PC, However it is quite quirky too

  It needs to be online to scan it lists any non Microsoft item as spyware , you have to allow as "trusted" your trusty tools The file scan got stuck so I did it during a long download and that freed it the horrible stuff it found was worth the rather long time it took! it directs you to "suspicious files" but if you don`t know what they are and they list it as unknown it`s best left says I , To Sum Up an unusual but effective slant on something that was the domain of Adaware alone and is now found on every corner as usual disable first, then if all is well delete I`d like the Yank anti phishing sites to be editable for UK users and a clamp put on rogue dialers being added incidentially it doubles as a great keep connection alive tool for downloaders, give it a few more tweaks and Tenbril will have got it just about right I say Thumbs up!

  well i have tried all the other spyware killers but when i delete it it just came back but spywarecatcher kills the supicious files this one is better than every other spyware catcher it is the #1 get pleez it will solve all your spyware problems
