Session Manager can save, backup, restore, and manage multiple Firefox tab sessions. It comes with the option of loading the last saved session, not loading a previous session, loading a specific older session, or asking for the user to choose. Already, that makes it more powerful than the native Firefox session manager.

In addition, it can save any number of older sessions, configurable from the main window, and gives users several options for session management when Firefox is shut down. The plug-in automatically backs up sessions in the event of a crash. Users can also configure how the add-on displays the list of saved sessions, merge new and old sessions on recovery, and reload tabs on recovery.

Finally, there are some nifty options for power users in Session Manager. You can configure how the sessions are named, change the default saved sessions location, encrypt saved session data, and configure how postdata gets saved, even from encrypted Web sites. Since each session file created by Firefox includes text data, cookies, and history, as well as tabs, being able to recreate all that information effortlessly is a major headache remover that shouldn't be underestimated.

Version 0.8.0.8 fixed issue with favicon not working in Firefox 22 and up - image url location changed in session data and errors that occurred when opening a new window and trying to get closed tab count in nightly loads.

Pros
Saving long lists of tabs is a wonderful thing, especially when planning vacations or learning about some complicated coding techniques. And it saves current tabs during a firefox crash. You can set it to auto-save in case you forget to manually save a session.

Not any that I can think of!

Used to work great, I could switch between sessions, choose what to do at start up etc

Suddenly gone from my startup promt, not in the toolbar either, I have to disable and re-enable at every start up to find it

When Firefox crashes, it saves the sessions, And not just your current one, you can go back I think 10...Great add-on

I wish it gave you an option to save all sessions...even when you only have 1 or 2 tabs open...instead of closing it out

Save your Firefox sessions and restore the state of all windows.

Session Manager allows you to save the current state of Firefox (history, text data, cookies) and return to that state at any later moment. Besides the manually saved states, Session Manager automatically stores the current state in case of a crash. All sessions are stored in the "sessions" folder inside your profile directory and can be moved around as any other file.
