This simple timer efficiently counts up or down and comes with a few features, but lacks the flexibility of similar alarm applications.

Secs opens with a small, straightforward interface; you must maximize it to view all the function buttons. You can set up to three alarms, and the program blandly displays a running time-count and the message you've input. (If you want to spice up the display, you can change the font, text, and background colors.) We like the variety of the alarms and actions the program offers once time is up: you can activate the default beep, set an audio file (your choice or randomly selected by the app), run any type of file, or shut down or restart Windows.

However, you cannot assign separate alarms and actions to each alarm, a feature which is sorely missed. If you're not looking for tons of versatility in a timer, this application will get the job done.

Developer's Description

Need to know how long you take to reply to emails, be reminded to when change the CO2 filter after 66 minutes and 10.624 seconds or run a program every 3 hours? Secs is an easy to use timer, capable of counting up as well as down, that is settable by milli-second divisions from 3 seconds up to almost 50 days. While it features a compact window, 12 common times are settable with only two clicks. It can have a beep or almost any standard audio file (including MP3s) for the "time-up" sound, either of which can be set to repeat. Secs can also run a file, play a random audio file or shut down the computer after set time.
