• Firm scheduling

  My firm runs eight small nursing homes and uses ScheduLAN on a virtual network that links them all. Though there's one person who does most of the scheduling, anyone at any of the homes may actually enter required services into ScheduLAN's calendar. And no matter who does the scheduling, everyone at all homes can see the schedule for his home or a common schedule for all homes. We also find the program's Message Center to be useful to send messages to each other without having to use internet-based e-mail. The program is easy to use, and it has an uncomplicated interface.

  Pros

  This calendar is so much more useful on a network than Outlook. And a whole lot less expensive. My last job required that I use Outlook, and it was a royal pain to view each others' schedules. We have eight people using ScheduLAN at this office, and all I have to do is to press one key to move from one person's calendar to another's, or to view everyone's at the same time (it would take a couple more keystrokes if we had more than 9 people using the program, but it would still be easy). I also find the program's split-screen main view to be quite useful. The left side of the screen gives me an idea how busy the entire month is, while the right side shows me today's detail. And so far, I haven't discovered anything that the program can't do (calendar-wise, that is).

  Pros

  This is an excellent product. Very flexible. I recently installed ScheduLAN into a client's office (28 users) and trained a few how to use it. They caught on very quickly and then trained the others. I know of no other program (and I've seen quite a few) that makes it so easy to display different users' schedules. This is good stuff.

• Well thought out design

  ScheduLAN's appearance makes it obvious that it's intended for the business market. It has a simple, straightforward look that concentrates on conveying information, instead of calling attention to itself. Of course, the main reason to get ScheduLAN is to share schedules on an office network, and the program delivers very well on that promise. A user at any computer in the office can enter events for any other user at any other computer. He can also view anyone's calendar, or everyone's calendar at once. The program makes good use of "hotkeys" to initiate functions, and it makes moving around the calendar a simple matter of intuition (at least for most of us -- a couple had to be weaned of habits formed with our previous calendar). And we make good use of the program's sign-out board. Even though we're not using all the program's features, it does everything we need, and it does it easily.

• Powerful, cheap, easy

  Pros

  ScheduLAN's reporting routine has great sorting capabilities. If you can remember ANYTHING about that appointment that you KNOW you set for SOME time in the future, trust me, you'll be able to find it with ScheduLAN. You can set appointments for yourself or for others in the office, and the program can display anyone's separate or combined calendars. That feature, alone, is worth the price of admission. Nobody here had any difficulty learing to use ScheduLAN, and most of us appreciate its uncomplicated displays. It's a very well rounded program with powerful features.

• One of the best

  Pros

  I love this program's features, from its multiperson scheduling and reporting facilities to its "perpetual memo" and date calculation. In addition to a Calendar, where you can enter things that you expect to do at some point in the future, the program also includes a Log (sort of a mirror image of the Calendar), where you enter things that you have acutally accomplished. Setup went quickly, and learning the program was simple, execpt for one knucklehead who was so used to Outlook that he had a hard time adjusting to a different (superior!) way of doing things. But now, even he finds ScheduLAN to be indispensible.

• Easy and with great features

  Pros

  I first considered ScheduLAN to be an inexpensive alternative to the multi-user Microsoft offering, since it can supposedly be used on any network, without additional software (such as MS Exchange) to manage multiple users. But as I've used it, I've really come to appreciate how well it's designed. First of all, it has an uncluttered appearance. That's a subjective call, but I think it's true. Next, switching from one person's calendar to another's takes only one keystroke (at least for the first nine people), and switching to a view of EVERYONE'S schedule is, likewise, a single keystroke. <p>Colors can be assigned to either event types or to users, and individual events can be assigned their own colors as well. The result is a truly USEFUL program that doesn't overcomplicate things with cute or flashy gimmicks.

  Great program. Lots of features, most of which are easy to pick up, but some of which will require a look at the program's Help system. Really like its simple method of displaying events for different people or combinations of people.

  Pros

  This program is as simple to set up as it is a pleasure to use. Everyone here loves it, because it shows the whole day for everybody in different colors. There's lot's of depth to the program, but the everyday functions are a breeze to pick up.

  This program's interface looks like something made for Windows 3.1. Good options and useful tools for the office network if you can figure out how to use them and if you can teach the rest of the office how to use.
