If you frequently download files, this small but powerful tool is great for verifying that those files are valid and uncorrupted. The presence of QuickSFV is evidenced only by a small desktop icon shaped like a lifesaver. You use this tool by first clicking on a download's verification file in Windows Explorer. QuickSFV quickly runs a check on the download files, comparing them to the checksum values stored in the verification file to determine if the downloads are valid and not corrupted during the download process. A display box opens and lists each file in the download packet as it's checked, and QuickSFV then notes whether there are corrupt files and names them, if there are any. This tool works with a variety of verification file formats, including SFV, MD5, CRC, and PAR. You also can use QuickSFV to create an accurate verification file for your own download packets. Anyone who depends on frequent or large downloads will find QuickSFV a reliable addition to his or her PC toolbox.

What’s new in version 2.36

Version 2.36 includes fixed some cases where zero byte files and verifying individual files in Explorer would crash Explorer.

Very necessary tool when downloading files.

Pros
Works great on one click analysis. Simple to use, just click the file and check the whole folder. Remembers last result so you can recheck files easily. It's free and safe.
Cons
A little heavy for slow PCs. It's utterly ugly. Better used from command line (can't read results from windows box).
Summary
Light, fast and simple

Pros
QuickPAR does this better and faster and more intelligently.
If you want to compare/verify that a copy of a file that you made from one location to another location, like maybe you just might want to check that a copy of a file on a CD or DVD is the same, well, after 30 minutes of trying, I gave up on this crap which takes 15+ minutes to generate an SFV from a 4gig file and ties them together so you can't check the copy against the first file's SFV.
Cons
This programmer has re-invented the wheel...BADLY !
Go get QuickPAR. Better, faster, and restores & rebuilds too !
