Editors’ Review
It isn't clear how this freeware even made it into the Diagnostic Software category since there's little value to the number it generates. Prime Benchmark comes in a zipped file and doesn't require installation. The compact interface consists of two buttons, Run and Submit, along with a checkbox for multithreading.
You can choose English or Czech as the language, but that's the only File menu option aside from the About link. The onscreen instruction is all the information the publisher provides, and it notes that the processor benchmark is a raw test of CPU power for basic operations. Once you hit Run, you're advised to wait a minute. A number then appears with the option to submit your data online. You'll need to enter a user name to save the number or create a log. The site shows only a bit more information for users who've submitted their data, but nothing that would help improve your system or troubleshoot issues. In addition to score, you can see processor, rank, user name and frequency.
You can submit your data each time you get a higher number, but frankly we wondered why anyone would want to do that. We weren't compelled to keep this freeware, and users interested in their PC's performance will want more information than this simplistic utility provides.
