Plantasia Professional for Windows

Plantasia Professional lets you view and manage plant information, though we found that a spreadsheet feature didn't work as promised.

Plantasia Professional has a well-designed interface that is intuitive to use. You can create new plant records and modify existing information by filling in such pertinent data as growth habits, plant interests, flower and fruit attributes, and much more. The program also features extensive plant illustrations and dialog boxes that contain preloaded items like flower shape, fruit type, and fragrance. Also, photos of plants can be uploaded and you can even print and e-mail plant cards to other Plantasia users.

Importing and exporting data in Microsoft Excel worked fairly well during testing. Disappointingly, when we tested the Live Link tool-- which is supposed to connect the program to an active Excel spreadsheet in real time--it failed to work. That said, any gardening enthusiast will appreciate Plantasia Professional's user-friendly design. Users looking to utilize the program's more advanced features, however, might be disappointed with the faulty functionality.
