Minecraft: China Edition is an adaptation of Mojang’s iconic sandbox game, built for the Chinese market in partnership with NetEase. It integrates both Java and Bedrock versions under a unified launcher and includes government-required features such as real-name registration and chat filtering. 

Minecraft: China Edition introduces exclusive content, in-game patch systems, and regional monetization structures. Core mechanics like mining, crafting, and survival remain intact, but interface adjustments, game modes, and censorship protocols create a distinct environment. You can access customized multiplayer servers and region-specific mods. Despite sharing Minecraft’s name, it functions under a different operational structure than the global release.

Minecraft: China Edition supports both Java and Bedrock editions. However, it requires a verified Chinese ID to access. Text input, including chats, signs, books, and item names, passes through censorship filters, altering in-game communication. The interface language is Simplified Chinese, and all social functions connect through a cloud-based friends system. Multiplayer hosting is built-in, allowing rented server management, while mod compatibility is embedded within the launcher’s modifying tab.

Monetization follows an alternative structure to the global version. You can use emeralds and diamonds in the patch store instead of Minecoins. This in-game market allows content purchases or unlocks through daily ad-watching limits. Up to five scratch cards per day offer patch rewards. You can also enjoy exclusive features, including Three Kingdoms-themed content, Chaos mode, and custom boss encounters developed by NetEase.

The Bedrock side includes a localized interface with touch controls, ad-based reward systems, and no achievements tracking. The Java side allows advanced mods like Bukkit and Forge, all managed through NetEase’s custom launcher. Patch systems replace add-on file imports, favoring modular in-game activation instead. Localization keeps everything within the NetEase framework, offering a distinct Minecraft version for its country-specific audience.

Minecraft: China Edition restructures familiar gameplay into a format aligned with local regulations and market models. It introduces changes to chat, servers, achievements, and monetization while retaining the core building, crafting, and survival features. Although based on the same source engines, it separates itself from the global version through filters, launchers, and exclusive features. This version incorporates fully integrated regional controls while still maintaining core similarities with the international counterpart.
