Microsoft Joulemeter is a software tool that estimates the power consumption of your computer. It tracks computer resources, such as CPU utilization and screen brightness, and estimates power usage. Joulemeter can be used for gaining visibility into energy use and for making several power management and provisioning decisions in data centers, client computing, and software design. Joulemeter estimates the energy usage of a VM, computer, or software by measuring the hardware resources (CPU, disk, memory, screen, etc.) being used and converting the resource usage to actual power usage based on automatically learned realistic power models.

Glimpse of system power use

Pros
It's free! Gives a helpful but generic guesstimate of power use for system and components.
Cons
To be more precise it wants connection with another (presumably commercial)data input source. Otherwise its results are rather generic.
Summary
Helpful tool to estimate the power draw of system and components if you have no idea what that might be. Needs more input to be more accurate.
Doesn't work on desktops :(

Would be useful to see the power usage of my device.
Cons
Unable to use since the software will only work on a computer that is running on battery power.
Summary
Only download if you have a laptop.
