• Didn't work too well, and installed a toolbar

  It got the codec to install The file started to play, but...

  Crashed WMP shortly after video started Comes bundled with spamware search engine and toolbar.

  Summary

  I was really disappointed after installing this to find that it installed a toolbar and default search engine in both IE and Firefox. There was no option to opt out of that installation, as far as I can tell (I even chose Custom install). I was highly disappointed that this was installed using the CNet downloader and installer, yet it still contained these types of malware. Also, the codec itself was buggy, causing terrible digital noise and problems before completely crashing Windows Media Player. I don't typically write too many reviews online, but given my really terrible experience, I needed to share with others.

  Pros

  This codec package helps me to playback .flv, dvix, xvid and other video formats. Highly recommended!!

• An Essencial windows media player plugin

  Pros

  It's very useful. I'd prefer to play flv videos inside the windows media player and it works fine with this plugin.<p>I use it in windows xp / wmp 10.

  Cons

  When launch installation, it needs to (auto)download the latest version of ffdshow. It's a necessary (codec) that uses for play flv files. There is nothing wrong (it downloads ok!) But, The ffdshow could come with playflv already.

  Pros

  Nothing, Had problems right as soon as I started the Download. Started adding things that were not in the Nomiclature, & that I didn't want.!! It's Suspect from the start.

  Cons

  This started off with problems Downloading, Adding other S$*$%, Then said I needed to down load other programs also. I dumped it straight away. Which also was a Problem, Didn't want to unistall properly. Took some doing but I got rid of it {I HOPE!!!} I run Vista, I should have really payed more heed to the Reviewers that Dogged this from the start. Don't Trust or Touch this program~ Trust me YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS IF YOU HAVE VISTA.!!!!

  I have only used this software for a few days and so far it works as expected. It plays FLV files in my Windows Media Player 11 without any trouble
