• Mathtype alignment issues for matrices

  Pros

  A product that is ostensibly sold as a formatting capability has no "pros" if it can't align properly.

  Cons

  Matrices have over-extended brackets -- makes it look like there are extra blank rows. Matrix bodies are sometimes unaligned vertically with extra blank rows below the body.

  Summary

  This has been going on for a very long time with no attempt at fixing the problem. Version previous to the ver 6 series worked properly. Not any more.

  Mysteriously converted equations to pictures when demo period ran out, losing weeks of work

  Use MS Equation instead

  this is a powerful interactive equation editor that lets you to create mathematical notation for word processing, web pages and desktop publishing.

  Cons

  It is not compatible with all Windows version.

• Efficient, useful, but expensive

  Pros

  Very easy to use You can edit an equation directly from Word/PPT/etc. just by double-clicking Limitless potential

  Cons

  Very expensive if you want to use it for more than the trial period

  Summary

  Spectacular for one-time use, but the price makes it a worse choice than simple alt-codes or MS Word symbols. Don't plan on having a permanent copy unless you are buying it for a business/school or have enough money to throw away on it.
