Stellarium (64-Bit) is a free open-source planetarium for your computer. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars, or a telescope. It is being used in planetarium projectors. Just set your coordinates and go.
I was hesitant to try this based on a previous negative review. In my test, the 64 bit version is much faster than the 32 bit version which is sluggish, and freezes quite a bit. I turned on every option on and maxed out the shooting star function. Then used the search function, which often causes a crash in the 32 bit version, and it found the deep space object w/o hesitation. Highly recommend!<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Aug 18, 2013<p/>I was hesitant to try this based on a previous negative review.
