  interspire.com is biggest email spammer of the world. They are spamming us daily with promotion emails of netmeds.com shopcj.com flintobox.com they emails do not have unsubscribe button.

  Easy to setup, easy to customize.

  Cons

  After sending emails, many times nothing is actually sent, altough the software thinks it is. This is clearly a serious bug, but if we want to have it fixed, we have to pay $600,- and wait for days. This is unacceptable, charging customers to fix your own bugs is ridiculous. Sending mail is the core functionality, so that should work no matter what.

  Summary

  This is clearly a script made in India to make a quick buck. Not reliable and bad support. Avoid it.

  Nice looking, great feature set.

  Cons

  This app is full of bugs. It has a very impressive feature list, majority of functions apparently works... but this is just the surface. On the background you get bad / incomplete reports, wrong segmentation, serious errors when sending email, screwed-up templates, etc. This is a big mess, a piece of junk - all for 500 USD. They require a yearly 250 USD support renewal, which is ridiculous, as the app does not work properly. You can send out simple newsletters, but once you'd use the advanced features (segmentation, advanced templates, survey, etc) it fails, works with lots of errors. If it were a very good app and I were a pleased user, I'd go for the maintenance, but 1. I hate being a beta tester of a 500 USD app and always requesting support 2. hate paying so-called 250 "maintenance fee" annually for ironing out bugs that are in the software. They should remove it without any notice

  Summary

  Even if it is more pricey, all I can recommend to go with the established email service providers who charge you a monthly cost, but that works.

  Their customer service and support is horrible. Everytime we needed it, it took us days to have a problem solved. They don't have a phone line for support, so you have to open a ticket online and wait for hours, and sometimes days, to have a reply.

  You will never like to deal ask Interspire for support. It takes 24 hours to have one message replied. Furthermore, it is obviously an application problem but they are blaming the SMTP server, they ask us to subscribe to their SMTP service. Never do.

  Summary

  We used Interspire to send out 4000 emails, the status shows all sent, but none of them received. according to their support, it is because we are using default php send email, which is not stable. Then we used an third party SMTP server, which works fine on Outlook and other email software and tested all the settings are correct. But it doesn't work for Interspire application, it always says connection refused. and we tested the hosting environment there is no port blocking. We asked their support, and it asks us to use their paid SMTP service. Of course I am not using, I don't want to get into such situation where it takes 24 hours to get one support ticket replied. and they do not provide the accurate information in the ticket, so it will take another day to get it clarified. If you are using their product, please prepare at least 6 month to get it working and send out the first email.

• upgrade policy improved - great newsletter software

  Very capable product. Excellent support. Active development with a steady flow of improvements. Support agreements now include upgrades. Very customizable, including branding and appearance.

  Cons

  It shouldn't have taken a year to fix their upgrade policy. Expensive now. Current support agreement required to obtain upgrades and updates.

  Summary

  I was one of the many customers very frustrated over their handling of the upgrade from SendStudio to Email Marketer, when they decided that upgrades to their software were not included even if you had a current support agreement. It took awhile, but they have again changed their upgrade policy - and this time for the better. Now if you have a current support agreement, all upgrades and updates are included. It isn't the inexpensive product SendStudio was, though. When you purchase the product, it includes a 12 month support agreement. To renew that agreement costs 50% of the original price. Obviously they are trying to fund ongoing development, which is perfectly legitimate. Is it worth it? If you need a powerful and completely customizable email marketing solution, you won't find better - so yes, it is worth it. If you are looking for an inexpensive mass-emailer, probably not. They are also making things right for those of us who were hurt by the original policy change. I can once again recommend this product and the company that makes it.

• Interspire - not going there...

  Ok to setup.

  Cons

  We have an Interspire shopping cart. Very difficult to get assistance as we are not given a password for their" knowledge base" as we bought the program from one of their re-sellers. Frequent "updates" that cost money.

  Summary

  Dont get on the slippery slope of interspire involvement.

  Works good till the upgrade.

  Cons

  Search for Interspire+review+problems. Products they make may look good, life cycle is very short and NO SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE FOR OLDER PRODUCTS, and by older I mean just 18 months. Interspire just offers the costly upgrade route.

  Summary

  Look for other solutions.
