This HTML editor's most distinctive feature is the ability to display Web pages in either Internet Explorer or the increasingly popular Firefox (and the Mozilla browser on which Firefox is based). To take advantage of the Firefox/Mozilla functionality, however, you must download a separate plug-in and register it in a DOS window. A DOS window! Nevertheless, HippiePro provides several wizards for setting up pages and style sheets. It includes a bushel of HTML tags in a convenient pull-down menu, and it offers a wealth of options, including spell-checking and a simple FTP client. We just wish HippiePro were more intuitive. It doesn't even let you jump to a line of code by clicking an object in the Web page preview. Nor is it a WYSIWYG editor, so rookies should choose something easier for their first pages. Don't let the groovy name fool you. HippiePro is for seasoned Web designers only.

Easy to use for beginner and sophisticated for experts

Pros
This is a program for the person who likes to create his own web pages and not use the simple canned products. You learn more each time you use it and its potential is never ending.
Cons
Hippie 98 listed the directories and subdirectories which you have used in the past making it easy to move back and forth. Hippie Pro has removed this feature so it is more cumbersome to install graphics and photographs from a different directory.
Summary
I started using Hippie when it was just Hippie. It was fantastic because it allowed me to incorporate features of other web pages which I liked. I moved up to Hippie 98 and then to Hippie Pro. I like ability to manage and manipulate my own web pages and Hippie give me so much latitude that I am able to exercise whatever creative genius I might have at the moment. It is just outstanding.
