Transform your Excel worksheets into CSV files.

This is a command-line utility compiled from a Perl script that will allow you to convert Excel Worksheets to a Comma Separated Value file. (.xls to .csv) It runs standalone without any other extra .dll files. I have included a GUI interface to the program written in AutoIt that will make using the script more user-friendly for anyone not familiar with the command line.

It does the job, nice and simple

Pros
I needed a command line program that I could use to convert an XLS file to CSV without producing any output messages. This did it (I used the -q switch, meaning "quite mode").
Cons
It uses the UNIX style line breaks instead of Windows style. That is, lines are terminated by LF instead of CR+LF. An option to use the CR+LF format would have been preferable, but for my purposes, it's not a problem.
Summary
You can't beat a free program that does what you need reliably. It saved me time and money.
Does what it says - Excellent Free Program.

Pros
Neat, simple, easy to use. Has GUI and Command Line. Excellent. Works well.
Cons
None really. Does one file at a time (ie no batches).
