Editors’ Review
No privacy software is perfect, but this one comes close. It's flexible, functional, and easy to personalize to your needs. Foxy's interface couldn't be any more basic. Functions are simply listed. Click one and easily edited options appear. The editing simplicity will be apparent to all users, but the application demands experience with filters, proxy servers, blacklisting, and similar privacy tools. This isn't a simple click-and-forget-it application. You'll need to spend time setting it to your needs.
Foxy's filters are very easy to edit, implement, and disable on the fly. You're going to need to do your homework, though. Take some time reading through this program's well-written manual. Foxy also expects you come armed with select information. For example, unlike similar apps, Foxy doesn't automatically find proxy servers. You'll need addresses to map your own proxy. Similar functions require similar knowledge. Foxy has a decent default set of blacklisted sites. You can add as many as you like. If you find a list of sites on the Web, you can add them with a simple copy and paste. Including and excluding banners, server-side spyware, tracking images, cookies, Shockwave sites, and other content is easy, as well.
Foxy tested well with both Internet Explorer and Firefox. Because of the nature of the advanced knowledge needed, we can only recommend this software for intermediate to advanced users.
