Quickly set the sleep setting for your monitor with this single-feature freeware, which has limited usefulness due to its strict time options. EZ Wizard has an elementary interface that requires minimal clicks for the program to activate. You're given only three choices of times of computer inactivity before your monitor is turned off--10, 15, or 20 minutes. Save your selection, and the change is made in the Control Panel. Of course, you can navigate to the Control Panel to manually make the adjustments, but EZ Wizard saves you a few steps. Users concerned with changing the power-scheme setting for your monitor on the fly will find this small executable is able to handle the job.

Turn off your monitor during idle time and reduce energy costs.
EZ Wizard provides a simple point-and-click interface to enable you to monitor power management on Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, and XP systems, saving up to $50 a year in energy costs. Personal computers use more energy than all other desktop and office equipment combined. Unfortunately, much of this energy is needlessly expended while the computer sits idle, perhaps while you are in a meeting, on the telephone, or at lunch. Fortunately, we can reduce this waste through the use of Energy Star, which can turn off your monitor, your computer's most consuming component, during idle time. To easily activate the Energy Star capabilities of your system, run the EZ Wizard. If you aren't already using Energy Star, the program will ask if you want to activate it. If you do, it will ask how long you want your system to sit idle before it goes to sleep; you can choose 10, 15, or 20 minutes. After you have answered several questions, the program will turn on the Energy Star features that work with your monitor.
