Symantec Speed Disk 5.1 for Windows NT and Windows 2000 provides effective, centrally managed disk optimization that keeps servers and workstations running at peak performance. It not only defragments volumes, it completely optimizes them. Unlike defragmentation utilities, Symantec Speed Disk optimizes everything, including the MFT (Master File Table), PageFile, free space, open files and metadata. Moreover, it doesn't require the system to be rebooted at all, which is key for server and workstation uptime. Finally, it doesn't require key processes such as anti-virus protection to be turned off or a lot of free space to be available on the disk.
