Reliably does what it is supposed to.

Pros
Simple to use. Reliable. Received free updates for v1 for many years before v2 came out this year. The update to v2 was inexpensive and now includes a license for both the Mac and PC version.
Cons
None that I know of.
Summary
If you have a use for making an sftp connection look like a drive there is nothing like expandrive. I've never experienced dropped connections the way the other reviewer reports.

Pros
It does map an ftp, or sftp server to a drive letter with no problem. Ease of interface, it is simple and straight forward. Launches seemlessly with windows. Lets you pick the drive letter and name to map to.
Cons
Drops the connection of the mapped drive and then you have to re-mount the drive through expandrive. Not a stable replacement if you need to have a drive that works all the time. Poor customer support.
Summary
Does what it says it does - basically. Great interface, simple to set up, and it works with limits. Not exactly what was advertised. Expandrive drops my sftp drive letter connection after a couple hours if not used and it fails to reconnect on it's own automatically. The program will establish connection again if I open the mapped drive from within the Expandrive program. It's not a stable or "always on" application. There is no way I can use this as a replacement for any drive or folder, leave it on it's own and expect it to keep working as it is supposed to. It's fine for a couple hours after windows bootup or initial launch, it just won't maintain itself. I e-mailed customer support a couple days ago and have yet to receive a response. I guess I made the mistake in staying I was using the evaluation product, you'd think they'd want to help fix the issue so I'd buy their application. Bottom line: Great concept with great potential, not quite there yet with some bugs to be worked out. Customer support never replied to the issue I found. Glad I haven't spent money on this and only used the evaluation.
