This free yet narrowly focused program delivers on its promise, but most users are unlikely to find it essential. Ducks In A Row effectively closes any specified open process on your computer at user-specified intervals. The program's interface isn't fancy at all, though it's easy to use. Applications in the Duck list are shut down as soon as the utility detects them running; you can specify how often the program should check for new instances of any given process. Unfortunately, you only can add open programs to the Duck list, which certainly reduces the utility's appeal. Also, the program lists itself in the Duck list, and if you accidentally add it and have a short delay set, you won't be able to get back to the interface. While Ducks In A Row can help reduce screen clutter, other, more robust applications do it better.

Developer’s Description

Scan and close self-launching programs on your desktop.
This little application doesn't play well with others. It scans your desktop every 2-60 seconds, sending close commands to Windows of your choice. Especially useful if a particular application insists on launching itself whenever you put in a CD. Ideal for programs which insist on stopping halfway through a long task, just so you can click ok. Best of all, the application is self-contained.
