Great, simple application that did the trick!

Pros
1. This application quickly deletes the folder windows.old when even native windows applications fail (for example if TrustedInstaller is listed as the owner of the folder). 2. You don't need to boot in safe mode or run command promts from boot to delete this pesky folder. 3. Quick, unintrusive and user-friendly
Cons
None, really, except perhaps its niche application area, but that's a given.
