Great product! Recovered 95% of my files.
tklamb1964- Pros
- Chk-Back recovered all of my zip files, my documents, my images and even some of my audio files.
- Cons
- Not sure why it couldn't recover a few text files. Even though it couldn't recover some php files and css files, opening them in notepad and then saving them accordingly isn't that big of a deal.
- Summary
- If you have a drive that says it has files on it and they aren't showing up (and they aren't hidden)--don't think your files are gone forever--run scan disk and then use Chk-back to recover them. It works like a charm!
Worked well, but incompletely.
Christhefuzzy- Pros
- Recognized most of the .chk files on my SD Card Restored them to their correct file types Free
- Cons
- No support for .cr2, .xmp, .mov - all common files on SD cards.
- Summary
- Recommended for .chk recovery, but don't be surprised if your .cr2 files show up as .tif. Upside is you can then easily rename the .tif as .cr2 afterward by shift+right-clicking the folder they're in, selecting "Open command window here," then typing "ren *.tif *.cr2" with the spaces included. Make sure you only do that if you don't actually have any "real" .tif files in the same folder (or move them) before you do this or you'll have to fix it later.
