It operates through an XMLA connection, allowing datasets to remain within the service while only analyzing metadata without accessing the actual data. In its latest mode, Measure Killer provides an overview of the entire tenant, highlighting reports that utilize custom visuals or report-level measures, along with detailed insights on datasets and reports, including page counts and visuals used.

The tool offers users the ability to delete unused measures automatically or generate a C# script for manual deletion through Tabular Editor. Additionally, it can create M-Code to remove unused columns, further enhancing performance by reducing RAM consumption.
