Battery Eater is a testing tool intended to reveal the potential of a notebook battery pack. Battery Eater can measure the minimum operation time of a notebook (when all power-saving options are disabled) under conditions close to the maximum workload (Classic mode). You should be aware, though, that such conditions rarely occur during an ordinary use of a notebook and should be regarded as reflecting the minimum time the notebook can work on its battery. Battery Eater will show a result closest to the maximum possible in the "Idle" and in the "Reader's Test" mode (when all power-saving options are fully enabled).
Displays a small black box on the taskbar to show the battery charge percentage.
Cons
- Does not really provide any additional value that I cannot get from using Windows power meter.
- Is capable of messing up your battery led indicator (it messed up mine!)
Summary
Beware of running this software when your battery is in its last stages!! My battery was in 2% but it seems to be not charging anymore. When plugged, the battery led indicator lighted up normally.
Once I disconnected the AC, the software run for a for less than a minute making the led indicator flash like crazy. Then because the battery charge was way too low, my laptop died. After that, the led never went back to normal! It is still flashing like crazy, even if it is plugged in!! I tried to run the software again in the hopes of "resetting" the led, but to no avail. Now I have to live with this irritating flashing light until I replace the battery with a new one. :((
