  Pros

  Does what it says. Is simple enough to use. Even moves shortcuts to correct shortcut folders (you have to create those first). Worth $15, at least.

  Cons

  The paid installer is separate from the free demo program. It's a limited time download, so if years later you need to re-install the program for any reason, you have to remember the name of the installation program (assuming you backed that up) after downloading it, because you can't just re-download it later from the same place. You can't log in to their site to re-download it if you need to, and it's not part of the free demo (like it is with nearly all other shareware). They do email you the username and passcode for the paid installer that you must use after the trial period ends, but that's of no use if you can't find the original paid installer in your backups because you can't remember what it was called.

  Summary

  Worth the money, but until they include the paid installer with the "free trial period has ended" screen, asking for the username and passcode, the $15 is all it'll ever be worth. You get something like 10 uses and then it just stops working. I'm an unhappy customer because of this and I'm being forced now to look for other (possibly completely free) solutions.

  It works, and it works well. I've used this for years and have been very happy with it.

  Cons

  The UI (User Interface) has some problems that make using this program a challenge for inexperienced users, and there is a bug in the UI that's been there for ages but can easily be worked around.

  Summary

  If you consider yourself at least modestly technical (using a computer doesn't count as technical), give this program a chance you'll end up finding int an invaluable tool. Well worth the $15 asking price. Once again, not for novices.

  Did a creditable job of moving apps, even from one drive letter to another (older version).

  Current version refuses to work unless you pay money. ('Trial has expired')

  Looks good on paper

  Cons

  Doesn't do anything. What I mean is the advertised free trial period doesn't exist anymore - I downloaded & installed it. On first (and subsequent) run it says "free trial period has expired".

  Summary

  The free trial seems to be a thing of the past.

  Couldn't tell ya - I can't install it when Ad-Aware identifies it.

  Adware that messes with Win32.

  Pros

  Saved my a**! I don't know what else I could do other than reinstalling everying. Laplink could not work because I was trying to recover from a partition on an external hard drive, only the boot was severly corrupt, everything else was okay.

  Cons

  Like I said, this product is great, my only problem was it did not update the Program list on the Start Menu Programs, but did copy some of the desktop icons.

  Summary

  GREAT PRODUCT!!!!! A miracle of luck to have found it. Like I said in the Cons section, only one. Excellent solution to a major undertaking. I made shortcuts from the Program Files directory to my desktop. If anyone knows a way to "re-connect" the Start Menu Programsto the program files directory, it would be greatly appreciated.

• #1 way to migrate programs from old to new drive

  Pros

  Simply select the directory of the program you want to move from/to. The new location is updated and the registry is copied from the old drive to match the new location.

  Cons

  I can't think of anything I didn't like about this program.

  Summary

  This program allows movement of programs from a drive that won't run Windows any more, due to virus attack or other software problem, to a fresh new drive with any Windows OS already installed.
