  This software just prompts you to download an updated version and either the website for the company is down, or it is just a pop-up site.

  Summary

  I would recommend that cnet investigate this program as malware/adware.

  Pros

  I tried another free winmail.dat viewer but it didn't work. This program worked perfect.

  It's so nice when a public spirited chap writes just the right little utility to solve one of those nasty problems that Microsoft causes all the time. <p> <p>It's galling to have to pay to repair the damage that MS creates all the time, and to find freeware that totally works for this problem is just great. <p> <p>Even just trying to explain the problem to users of OutHouse is a pain. If they're so clueless that they'r prepared to use software that's the prime target for all malware, you canbe sure they're never going to be able to attach files the "right" way.

  Cons

  Just a _very_ minor aesthetic comment. If you're using this app over MTSC (Remote Desktop Connection), which typically has a limited colour map, the (otherwise nice) colour scheme is a little less than perfect. Of course, if this is the biggest problem with a piece of free software that actually works, you know you're onto a winner.

  Pros

  I like the simplicity and ease of use. Most important though that it allowed me to do what I downloaded it for. I was able to view a win.dat file effortlessly!!
