The ForceWare release 50 graphics driver delivers new performance optimizations and features in both DirectX and OpenGL. The Unified Driver Architecture (UDA) guarantees forward and backward compatibility with software drivers. The ForceWare release 50 graphics drivers include the nVidia unified compiler technology that translates shader programs so that they are optimized for the nVidia GPU architecture, substantially improving the performance of next-generation DirectX 9.0 titles such as HalfLife 2 or XIII.
Other features of the latest release include: Increased graphics performance when using nForce3 systems. Improved HDTV Y Pr Pb component out support for 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i formats. Added support for GeForce 5900 XT.
