Compression tools are a dime a dozen and it can be difficult to see differences from one to the next. Unfortunately, this freeware utility is just another functional tool with little to make it stand out. jZip's button and file list interface sports unremarkable cartoon-like function buttons with simple names and short tool tips. A single page FAQ is about all the help you'll receive, so make sure you understand basic archiving before loading this application.
It's not that jZip doesn't work. The application quickly and easily constructs ZIP archives and extracts files from 15 different formats. It's a snap to configure, offers three interface styles, and can view select archived files. The program includes a robust DOS command line function set. jZip even offers simple drag-and-drop functionality to add files to archives. That function supports numerous commands to add and replace, move and replace, update, and more. All the other common archive tool functions are also in this utility.
If jZip is your first archive tool, you'll be happy with this solid performer. If you already have a good archiving tool, there's nothing here that should convince you to change.

"Causing errors to Explorer"

After installing this program, i was unable to right-click in Windows Explorer. (not IE, but explorer.exe... that mean: DESKTOP, and FILES). It was causing an error 0x00000000 from explorer.exe.
Summary
Not reliable, and causing problems to the operating system itself. After uninstalling it, everything started to work again (hopefully). But i'm not a fan of this kind of application which is screwing up my OS so i won't reinstall it again.

The installation process changes your home page on internet explorer to yahoo and installs the yahoo toolbar too...all easy to undo but madening grrrrrrrrrr

I've been looking for a free program that would decipher WinRAR files and this is a great one. Fast and easy to use, small and doesn't use a lot of resources.
